Controller and contact

Controller: Ruben D’Alcamo, C.da San Michele, 94010 Calascibetta (EN), Italy, VAT no. 01282050861. Privacy contact: ruben@ourdaysleft.com (not active yet). The jurisdiction and tax obligations for digital sales must be confirmed before launch.

What stays in your browser

The estimate is calculated in your browser: your name and age are not sent to the server. The optional country suggestion uses the country code associated with the connection; the site does not store it. Drafts and letters not uploaded stay in this browser’s local storage and may be lost if browser data is cleared or the device fails.

Optional online keeping

Only after sign-in and an explicit action are selected texts sent to the service and encrypted at rest. Encryption is not end-to-end: the operator could technically decrypt the content, although ordinary service operations do not involve reading letters. Email authentication is planned through Resend but is not configured in this preview; the application uses Cloudflare infrastructure. Stripe Managed Payments is the planned checkout route, subject to account and product eligibility; it is not connected and no payments are processed in this preview.

Purpose, legal basis and retention

Data is processed to provide writing, online keeping requested by the user, sign-in and payment. The controller must define legal bases and retention periods for logs, sessions, invoices and backups and verify them against the live infrastructure before publication. No precise retention or deletion-from-restores period is promised at this time.

Rights and continuity

For access, correction or deletion: ruben@ourdaysleft.com (not active yet). Access can be recovered only by verifying a new address with the one-time code or an already verified backup email; support cannot manually unlock an account. If the primary email, backup email and code are all lost, the account cannot be reopened; only copies already downloaded or kept locally remain available. Family members receive no automatic access after the writer’s death. Anyone who wishes to share letters can export them and give a copy to someone while alive.

Browser storage and cookies

The site uses local or session storage for unsent drafts, audio and display preferences, and temporary calculation continuity. Once sign-in is enabled, the Worker will use a technical HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite session cookie. The reviewed source contains no behavioural advertising or third-party analytics tools. Clearing browser data may erase local drafts and preferences.

Requests and providers

Web requests technically expose an IP address and request metadata to the host and network providers; their logs and retention depend on the configuration and contracts actually enabled. The application is prepared for Cloudflare, but this local preview does not use a production database. Do not put private letter contents in contact forms.

Exercising your rights

Privacy requests may be sent to the controller at C.da San Michele, 94010 Calascibetta (EN), Italy. ruben@ourdaysleft.com is planned but not active in this preview. You may complain to the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante). Postal requests will be handled only once the service is operational.
